How do you know what school to go to?

I’m sorry to all of the people who have been following this website (or lack thereof) waiting on me to add content to it. There have been some excited things going on at my plumbing company. I have been promoted and work hours have been extended and we have been blasted with work. On the downside I haven;t been able to get on here and post. I haven’t been as dedicated to this website as I was hoping to be in the very beginning. I’m hoping to change all of that going forward as I’d like to build a solid reputable website that all of you looking at colleges in your future can come to and use as a resource.

However, back to the topic of this post. I wanted to go over what factors can go into picking the right school/fit for you personally.

Picking a school should not be a popularity contest. Obviously there are some college names that have more tradition, “more prestigious”, cost more, etc. and when people hear about these highly respected universities they feel obligated to try and get in there and impress others despite the fact that they don’t even want to go there.

You must do quite a bit of homework before you make such a massive decision for your life.

I think that the best way to go about finding information on these community colleges is to go on the web and search the facts on each school or you can even go to your public library and do research that way.

I will make a list of community colleges in the New York area with a little description of each so that you guys can get a good understanding of different options.

First community college I will bring up is Hostos Community College which is located in Bronx, New York. Hostos is a great community college for those who are seeking careers in nursing and radiology fields.

The next school is Borough of Manhattan community colleges which I think has an amazing campus that is easy to get around. I believe this is a very affordable college but is of very high quality as well. It’s a great university with diverse backgrounds.

Finally, the last college I will talk about is Institute of Design and Construction. As you can probably tell this college has to do with construction and is located in Brooklyn, New York. The staff at this college will certainly go out of their way to make sure you understand the concepts.

Hope this article helped you guys out and I will be back on in the next couple of days to post more.

Have a good day!

A little “About me”

Howdy folks!! I hope everyone had a great holiday and are looking forward to a new year with the ambition to go after your dreams and start the new year fresh!!

I started my blog off with a very short intro to what this blog is about and what not. However I did a very bad job of actually letting you guys in on who I am and what it is I do for a living.

I am a 24 year old plumber in Akron, Ohio who went to Kingsborough Community College in New York, hence the reason my domain name is community colleges New York.

I am born and raised in Akron, Ohio but I always dreamt of living in New York so why not do it for a few years in college?

I studied management as my major in school and one day aspire to be my own boss as a plumber contractor, and maybe even run my own plumbing business. My dad was a plumber and my grandfather as well so plumbing has been something that has run in my family for years. They have inspired me to open up my own business as a plumber and start a family business.

I have a 22 year old girlfriend who I am in love with and we have a son who is 2 years old. He will one day be running the plumbing company along side of me.

Thanks again to everyone following my blog!! keep coming back for more material!!

Welcome to Community Colleges New York

Hello out there to everybody who sees this. This is the first post to my new website. This website is created with the intent of informing people of all ages, especially those looking to go to college, of all types of different colleges, majors that they offer, the area/atmosphere that they are at. The New York part to this domain is not meant to only give college information for nNew York colleges. The reason for New York being in the web site name is because I attended college in New York. I will get more into that later on.

This post was a short introduction and I will be back on over the next days, weeks, months to update you guys and give out as much information as possible.
